Rate rises to remain steady, but will home prices?

Home borrowers were relieved at this week`s announcement by the Reserve Bank of Australia not to increase the official cash rate.

None of the major banks have increased interest rates from the last December rise and hopes are that rates will remain steady for a few months more.

However, an early start to the property season, increased buyer demand and low stock levels of property on the market - all major contributing factors for price rises, may still cause home sale prices to leap ahead.
