When you live in another country and still own a home back in Australia it's critical to find a property agent you can count on.

In the 6 years that Sinead Szerenga of Callagher Estate Agents managed our home for us in Balmain her attention to detail and comprehensive management skills were second to none. Sinead was able to make day to day property management decisions with little or no input from us which meant we always knew the property was being maintained and managed well. Additionally Sinead was a very strong advocate for us as the home owner when it came time for negotiation with existing or prospective tenants. When it came time to sell, Callagher was not actually our first choice of agents to market our property however their proposal to prepare and market the property was so comprehensive we opted to go with them. We never once questioned that decision once it was made - the orchestration of the trades people to prepare the home in a very short time period before the property went on the market was like a well-oiled machine – Sinead was able to pull in favours from local trades people and have them all re-prioritize their schedules to meet our deadline.

A comprehensive marketing plan was developed that we were very pleased with but the real measure of an agency is its ability to attract the even more valuable form of advertising – editorial. Toula Kavich was able to secure a two page feature in the local SMH Domain as well as another editorial feature in a key local paper and finally a letterbox drop of a quality flyer was distributed.

With less than 4 weeks to market our property and the auction date 1 week before Christmas AND a federal election in right the middle of the marketing period the odds were stacked against us. However the sales engine of David and Cary Giezekamp was formidable in the lead up to and on Auction Day. As REINSW 2007 Auctioneer of the Year David proved his worthiness for the title and did an incredible job during the auction drawing out the buyers from what began as a slow start to an all out buyers frenzy in the end. Cary was meanwhile bobbing between buyers and keeping us up to date over the phone as the auction progressed. Finally, one bidder was triumphant and my wife and I were ecstatic with the outcome. We’d set an aggressive stretch-goal for the team and they had surpassed it.

I couldn’t be happier with the entire team at Callagher and would definitely recommend anyone to give them a shot – you won’t be disappointed!

Policeman Joshua Maxwell and local business owner Rosemary Musolino loved the two-bedroom townhouse they had purchased 6 years ago in the heart of Leichhardt. But with 16 month old Stefania and plans to add further to their family met a larger home was required.
